NBA star LeBron James addressed the war in the South (Thursday) and expressed broad support for Israel. In his words, he offered condolences to the families of the deceased and called for action against terrorism and anti-Semitism.
"The destruction in Israel is tragic and unforgivable. The violence and murder of innocent people by Hamas is terrorism," said James. "I send my condolences to Israel and the Jewish community from the bottom of my heart. We are praying for peace in the region and are committed to continuing to fight against any form of hatred in every way. Additionally, we all must work to ensure that this tragedy does not lead to more hatred, racism, and anti-Semitism."
Last night, the NBA released a statement on the conflict, stating that "the league mourns the shocking loss of life in Israel and condemns acts of terror. We stand with the citizens of Israel and pray for peace in the entire Middle East."
