IDF spokesperson, Brigadier General Daniel Hagari, was interviewed this morning (Tuesday) by the media. During his remarks, he referred to the documentation released by Hamas regarding the captives and stated, "It is psychological terrorism, a despicable modus operandi that also ISIS employs."
"I will begin with Gaza," Hagari opened his remarks. "We have acted and continued to strike. Last night, we eliminated Osama Al-Muzaini, the head of the Shura Council in the Strip, responsible for the prisoners' portfolio and directing terrorism against the state. Targeting high-ranking figures remains our top priority; we continue to significantly strike operational headquarters, terrorist infrastructure. It's an ongoing battle with no ceasefire. We promote our assessments and readiness to continue; there was no exceptional event last night."
Hagari also addressed the heating up of the northern border in front of Hezbollah and said, "This morning, we thwarted an infiltration attempt by a group of terrorists who approached the border and attempted to place an explosive device. We eliminated them from the air, and there were four terrorists who were affected. Our forces in the north were not harmed last night. There were several shooting incidents yesterday, and we responded significantly to each incident. We targeted military positions last night, and we are alert and prepared in the north."
The aid from the USA: the aircraft carriers that arrived are a significant thing
In recent days, it was reported that the United States has deployed aircraft-carrying ships to the region to deter Hezbollah and Iran. Hagari says, "The presence of aircraft-carrying ships is significant. The Ford is already fully prepared, and the Eisenhower is on its way. I say this because we are ready to deliver our severe response to Hezbollah based on our capabilities, and you are well aware of our capabilities and our readiness in Gaza as well."
"There is value in the American assets. I am also listening to what the Iranian Foreign Minister said yesterday, and our readiness here with the United States for an attack or to deter us is on a highly strategic level. We have good readiness, close ties. Any such American aircraft carrier knows how to make over hundreds of sorties, surely when they are together, and that is a very significant thing on a multi-scene level."
Footage of the abductee: We will continue to come across such videos
Yesterday, Hamas, the terrorist organization, released footage showing Mia Schem calling for help. When asked about it, Hagari said, "I want to clarify that it is psychological terrorism that we will continue to confront. It is directed against Israeli civilians. It is a despicable modus operandi that also ISIS uses. Hamas is desperately trying to rebuild its image as a seemingly humane organization and present itself as such, but it has failed to explain to the world how a 21-year-old girl who went to a party found herself kidnapped and injured in Gaza.
"This and dozens of other videos like these will not succeed in changing the fact that the world understands who Hamas is," Hagari concluded. "We continue to operate in all intelligence and operational ways to bring the captives home."
