Israel's President Yitzhak Herzog arrived today (Monday) at the Soroka Medical Center and visited the wounded from the fighting in the south, citizens and soldiers, 140 of whom are being treated in the hospital.

During his tour of the hospital, Herzog also visited the seriously wounded in the intensive care unit. "We've now completed a visit to Soroka Hospital. We've visited wounded from the various units of the IDF, citizens, seriously wounded, after surgery. We met families," Herzog said.

Israelis Enlisting With A Big Heart, United as One

According to him, "If you wish to know, said Bialik, and understand the strength of Israel, what Israeli heroism is, go room to room and meet the people here. Go all around and see the Israelis enlisting en masse, with a big heart, mission, unity, and cohesion."

"The message that comes from here, no-one can defeat us. I know it's hard, it's painful, the news, the alarms. No doubt. This is part of the war. They want to scare us. They want to undermine our confidence."

He ended by saying "But when you meet the doctors here, the nurses, the families, the mothers, the spouses, the children - you see what a nation is. A nation that's no longer willing to take it. A nation that will fight until it wins. A nation whose soldiers are at the front and who will drive out the enemy. A nation that warns the enemies it faces - you have no chance of success, Am Yisrael Chai."

"A Medical Iron Dome"

Dr. Shlomi Kodesh, Director of the Soroka University Medical Center, Klalit said that "We are prepared to continue to treat the wounded which reached us and which will reach us in the near future, and provide them with the life saving treatment they need, and continue to prove Soroka's role as Israel's 'medical Iron Dome.'

"With our excellent staff who are working in a way that is inspirational. I thank the President and his wife who came to get a first hand look at the efforts of our teams and the heroic stories of the wounded."
