The IDF is launching a pre-planned series of strikes in Syria today (Thursday), coinciding with the visit of Ali Larijani, adviser to the Iranian Islamic Republic's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, according to Army Radio reporter Doron Kadosh.

IDF targets include sites in the al-Maza neighborhood of the capital city of Damascus, the Qadasiye neighborhood of Damascus, and multiple other sites nearby.

It is not presently clear what or who the IDF is targeting in these strikes.

Hezbollah and the IRGC have used Syrian urban areas as a base of operations against Israel for many years, housing senior terrorists and stockpiling weapons and supplies near civilians.
