Last night, shortly after 9:05 p.m., a terrorist arrived, attacked and stabbed a police officer of the David Area who was stationed near the Hota Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem.

The terrorist, whose face was covered with a hijab, pulled out a knife and attempted to stab the police officer. The officer, who was not injured due to the protective vest he was wearing, absorbing the stabbing, immediately responded by knocking the terrorist to the ground with force, neutralizing her. Nearby police and border patrol forces, along with the officer, apprehended the terrorist and took her in for questioning.

A knife was found at the scene where the attack took place, and there were no injuries as a result of it. Large police forces from the Jerusalem District, under the command of Jerusalem's Central Command, were called to the scene. The investigation of the attack and the terrorist was assigned to the David District.

Command sergeant major E., the police officer who was stabbed and neutralized the terrorist, recounted: "During a patrol in the Old City at Hota Gate, a woman approached me and began stabbing me forcefully in the abdominal area. I immediately realized it was a terrorist. I didn't open fire because there were pedestrians nearby at the time. I pushed her away with my hands and feet and used force to neutralize her. The knife slipped from her hand, and when she was pinned to the ground, the threat passed. Myself and the Border Police team that was nearby managed to apprehend her. I understood that the vest protected me and prevented the knife from penetrating my body. Myself and the other officers from the David District operating here will continue to act against terrorists and ensure security."
