The police arrested six young people from the student protest this morning (Thursday) on suspicion of disorderly conduct after they demonstrated near the office of the Minister of Education in Jerusalem.

The student protest activists arrived this morning at the Ministry of Education in Jerusalem and protested what they call: "the introduction of anti-democratic messages into the education system and the lack of budgeting for the institutions." During the demonstration, a number of male and female students tied themselves to the doors inside the office of the Minister of Education Yoav Kisch with chains and some of them glued part of their bodies to the parquet floor with glue.

When the police arrived at the scene and announced that the protesters were breaking the law, the protesters refused to leave and then the police began to forcefully evict them from the compound. The arrested suspects, residents of Petah Tikva and Jerusalem in their 20s, were transferred to the police station for further investigation.

The student protest: "Kisch gives Avi Maoz a stronghold to instill racist messages"

The students' protest stated: "We have come to fill the chair of the Director General of the Ministry of Education, which has been empty since Assaf Tselal's brave step. When the educational system is in crisis and on the verge of a strike due to long years of criminal neglect, Kisch allows racist Avi Maoz to inject anti-democratic and racist messages into it."

According to them: "The Ministry of Education is turning into a ministry for re-educating the children of Israel, all under the auspices and in the service of the coup. Kisch against the teachers, against the students, and against the lecturers. A new school year begins, but we have already learned the most important lesson in democracy!"
