Israel's warning to citizens in South Korea: Stay where you are and follow the news

Israel's embassy in South Korea called on all citizens to stay where they are and remain vigilant, as "it's still early to assess the consequences of the decision" to declare martial law.

The Israeli embassy in South Korea issued a warning today (Tuesday) to all citizens in the country, following President Yoon Suk Yeol's declaration of martial law earlier today.

In the warning, the embassy said that it is too early to assess the consequences of the decision, and that for now, all Israelis in South Korea should stay where they are and closely follow the news.

Clashes are currently being reported between South Korean civilians and the military charged with enforcing martial law.

The Martial Law Command in charge of enforcing the new legal situation had previously stated that all political activities, including strikes and protests, are now banned, and those who violate the rules can be subject to arrest or search and seizure of their property without warrant.
