A senior Israeli legal expert speaking to Channel 14 today (Sunday) said that Prime Minister Netanyahu would be wise to not visit France, despite the country's ostensible promise not to enforce the ICC warrants against him.
The expert said that France's claim of granting Netanyahu immunity from arrest, at least by the state, was vague enough to be open to interpretation, which may serve as a danger to the Prime Minister as well as former Defense Minister Gallant.
The expert further said that it is quite possible that the ICC has issued sealed warrants against other officers of the government and the IDF, including quite junior ones, which would be executed against them the moment they landed on the soil of France or any other country bound by the Rome Treaty, which authorizes the ICC to judge state crimes.
Earlier today, Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said that there was an erosion of support for the ICC warrants in France and Holland and that both Republican legislators and the incoming Trump administration were very much on board with sanctioning not only the ICC but also anyone who assists them.
