Donald Trump announced Sunday evening that he would appoint his Lebanese father-in-law, Massad Boulos, as a senior adviser on Middle East affairs. Boulos is the father of Michael Boulos, the husband of Tiffany Trump, the daughter of President-elect Donald Trump.

Boulos played a crucial role in the president-elect's campaign, mainly by bringing Trump many votes from the Arab community in the United States, especially from the state of Michigan, where Trump won 15 electoral votes.

Boulos is a Christian Arab of Lebanese descent. In his youth, he moved from Lebanon to Texas in the United States.
