Violence erupted in Amsterdam on Monday night as a second wave of anti-Semitic attacks rattled the Dutch capital, local media report.

Rioters dressed in black and armed with fireworks reportedly set one of the city’s iconic trams ablaze and vandalized the streets, shouting anti-Semitic slurs like “Kanker Joden” - a Dutch phrase used to express extreme hostility against Jews, meaning “f*** the Jews,” according to De Telegraaf.

In the western suburbs, a tram near '40-'45 Square was targeted, with fireworks shattering its windows and sparking a fire, police said.

Masked individuals roamed the streets chanting “Free Palestine,” while journalists on the scene witnessed rioters pulling a bystander off his bike and assaulting him. Private vehicles and bicycles were also destroyed amid the chaos.

Police reported that the young rioters appeared to actively seek confrontations with officers as they unleashed destruction across the city.

Geert Wilders, leader of the PVV, responded to the events by saying, "After the Jew-hunt, the Intifada."

Wilders has been a strong defender of Israel and the Netherlands's Jewish population while being deeply critical of Dutch immigration and integration policy.
