UK: Three police officers injured and 40 arrested during pro-Palestinian protest

Most of the trouble reportedly came from a breakaway protest which refused to heed police instructions.

Last night (Tuesday), three UK police officers were injured and 40 civilians arrested at a pro-Palestinian protest near Westminster.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the main protest was arranged with the authorities and ended without incident, but a breakaway group of about 500 people refused to heed authorities and were arrested for obstruction of travel routes or assaulting emergency officers.

While two of the police officers were lightly injured, one of them suffered a serious facial injury from a bottle being thrown at his head by an unknown assailant from the crowd.
