The IDF has confirmed the death of Sergeant First Class (res.) Roi Sasson, aged 21, from Mevaseret Zion, who served in the 90th "Nahshon" Battalion, Kfir Brigade. Sasson fell during combat in the northern Gaza Strip.
In the same incident, the battalion officer sustained serious injuries and was evacuated to a hospital, where his family has been notified.
Sergeant First Class Sasson's death marks the 800th soldier lost since the beginning of the ongoing Swords of Iron war.
Just a day earlier, the IDF reported the death of Sergeant First Class (res.) Omer Moshe Gaeldor, aged 30, from Jerusalem, who was killed while serving in the 5111st Battalion, Golani Brigade, during combat in southern Lebanon.
The same incident also resulted in three soldiers from the 5111st Battalion suffering severe injuries. They have been evacuated for medical treatment, and their families have been informed.
