Earlier today (Wednesday), an American Navy warship intercepted a UAV launched from Yemen in the Red Sea. This was reported this evening by the Reuters network, which based the report on the words of two American officials.
As previously mentioned, last night alarms were sounded in the Eilat area after a surface-to-surface missile was detected that was launched towards Israel from Yemen. According to the IDF spokesman, the missile was detected and successfully intercepted in the Red Sea area by air defense fighters, using the "Arrow" long-range defense system. It was further clarified that the target did not cross into Israeli territory, and the warning was activated according to policy.
Later, the Houthi organization in Yemen accepted responsibility for firing the missiles at Israel, when the organization's spokesman claimed that they attacked "sensitive areas" in Eilat. He also threatened that the rebel organization will start "implementing the instructions regarding the appropriate treatment of every Israeli ship. We will not hesitate to attack Israeli ships in the Red Sea and anywhere we reach."
