Even more tragic

Rabbi Kogan's widow is the niece of Gavriel Holzberg, Mumbai Chabad martyr

This just adds another layer of tragedy to an already devastating story.

Rabbi Tzvi Kogan

In a heartbreaking revelation. the widow of Tzvi Kogan, the Chabad emissary murdered in Dubai, is the niece of Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg, who was killed in the 2008 Mumbai Chabad House terror attack.

Kogan's body was discovered this morning (Sunday) after he was allegedly abducted by an Iranian-directed terror cell. He had served as manager of the "Rimon" kosher supermarket in Dubai and worked as a Chabad emissary promoting Jewish values and strengthening Jewish communities abroad.

Israeli security sources report that Kogan was likely tracked by terrorists of Uzbek origin from his business in Abu Dhabi. After his abduction, the suspects reportedly fled to Turkey.

The connection to the Mumbai attack adds a painful dimension to the tragedy. Sixteen years ago, Rabbi Holtzberg and his wife Rivka were killed when terrorists stormed the Mumbai Chabad House during a coordinated attack across the city. Their young son Moshe survived thanks to his nanny, Sandra Samuel, who managed to escape with him.

Kogan had been missing since Thursday, continuing a devastating pattern of attacks on Chabad emissaries serving Jewish communities worldwide.
