Another crossing opened for aid to Gaza

After American pressure: The Kissufim crossing was opened for humanitarian aid

For the first time since 2005, the Kissufim Shalom crossing was opened this morning for humanitarian aid trucks to the Gaza Strip. The IDF emphasizes that "the aid enters the Gaza Strip after being checked at the Kissufim crossing."

According to the directive of the political echelon, the Kissufim Shalom crossing was opened this morning (Tuesday) for the first time since 2005 for the transfer of humanitarian aid trucks to the Gaza Strip.

The crossing was opened as part of the effort and commitment to increase the quantity and routes of aid to the Gaza Strip, in coordination with the IDF through the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, the Southern Command, and the land crossing networks in the Ministry of Defense.

The humanitarian aid trucks include food, water, medical supplies, and shelter equipment for the central and southern Gaza Strip. The IDF emphasizes that "the aid entered the Gaza Strip after being inspected at the Kissufim crossing by the security inspectors of the Land Crossings Authority in the Ministry of Defense."

"The IDF, through the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, will continue to operate in accordance with international law in order to enable and facilitate the humanitarian response for the Gaza Strip," it was stated in the announcement.

It is worth noting that just last Sunday, IDF forces intercepted a convoy of the international community that was on its way from the southern Gaza Strip to the north with weapons for firearms. The people in the convoy were stopped and taken for questioning.

The IDF spokesperson stated that it was not a humanitarian aid truck: "During the passage of a coordinated convoy of the international community that took place last night, which was under IDF surveillance, there was suspicion of unusual movement. Following this, the convoy was stopped for a security check at the humanitarian corridor between the north and south. IDF forces discovered a bag containing ammunition for firearms."
