The police and the Airports Authority will conduct an emergency drill at Ben Gurion Airport tomorrow (Tuesday) morning to enhance operational readiness.
Central District police, in collaboration with the Israel Airports Authority and all emergency and rescue agencies, will conduct a drill simulating an emergency event at Ben Gurion Airport tomorrow morning. During the exercise, the operational synchronization between the entities and the public information efforts will be practiced, alongside the command and control manoeuvres of the Israel Police in emergency scenarios.
The drill will take place between 08:30 and 14:00 in the airspace of Ben Gurion Airport, involving all the units at the core of the airport, including the firefighting unit, Magen David Adom, the IDF and Home Front Command, and the chief investigator unit at the Ministry of Transport.
There may be temporary changes to traffic arrangements for short periods, as well as increased movement of police vehicles and emergency and rescue vehicles, as well as sounds of explosions and pyrotechnics according to the exercise plan. The Israel Police request that drivers adhere to the instructions, and if necessary, we will issue update notices accordingly.
The exercise does not affect the flight schedule and there is no coverage in the airspace.
