Following the request of MK Boaz Bismuth to Defense Minister Yoav Galant, armoured shelters were provided to the bases whose soldiers were exposed in several shooting incidents from Lebanon.

In the middle of the month, MK Bismuth from Likud approached the Minister of Defense after soldiers serving at bases across the country reported to him that they do not have protected spaces. "The recent events show that military bases are clear targets for our enemies who direct their attacks towards them," it was noted in the letter.

Bismuth noted that after the UAV incident at the Golani Brigade base that resulted in the deaths of four soldiers, an instruction was sent by the commanders regarding defense in light of warnings about security threats, including UAVs: "Lie on the ground with hands on your head, with priority given to double cover/trench for 10 minutes after hearing a red alert." According to the Knesset member from Likud, this directive does not provide the minimum required protection at all; it is not a policy that can ensure the safety of our soldiers.

After the inquiry, the Ministry of Defense responded to Bismuth's request. In the statement he issued, it was written: "A few days ago, I raised with the Minister of Defense, Yoav Galant, the urgent issue of the lack of protection in IDF bases across the country, and I am pleased to see that the Ministry of Defense responded to my request and acted immediately so that our soldiers receive the necessary means to ensure their security and safety." The safety of our soldiers above all!
