Senior Hamas officials told the Saudi channel "Al-Sharq" that the terrorist organization will present a proposal to the mediators in the discussions in Qatar today (Sunday), which will include a comprehensive deal to end the war immediately, an Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and a deal to release all hostages "in one go."
The proposal is different from the previous proposals that insisted on instalments and multiple stages in the implementation of the deal. In the current proposal, it is about a single comprehensive deal for the release of hostages and the cessation of the war.
One of the senior officials in Hamas said that today the Egyptian, Qatari, and American mediators will meet with the Israeli negotiation team. According to him, Hamas will listen to their proposals, but from their perspective, they prefer a comprehensive deal in one stage that will end the war all at once.
According to the senior Hamas official, in return, "prisoner exchanges will take place that will include all Israeli captives in exchange for an agreed number of Palestinian prisoners."
That source added: "Of course, we do not reject any other ideas that the mediators might present, but the criteria for acceptance from our perspective start with the cessation of the war." A senior Hamas official accused Israel of a "war of annihilation in the northern Gaza Strip manifested in killing, destruction, uprooting, and starvation." Without a ceasefire, there will be no agreement of any kind.
