Breaking: Shooting attack near Yavneh interchange – one dead and one moderately injured

The police have cordoned off the scene and are investigating the circumstances behind the shooting, which are still unclear.

There are initial reports of a shooting incident that took place this morning (Tuesday) on Route 4 in two different scenes - near the Yavne interchange and at the Nir Galim intersection.

MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment to 2 wounded, including an unconscious 30-year-old man in critical condition at the Yavne interchange and a 42-year-old man in moderate condition at the Nir Galim intersection.

According to the MDA spokesperson, MDA paramedics evacuated a 30-year-old man from the scene at the Yavne interchange to Assuta Hospital in Ashdod in critical condition. Another 42-year-old wounded man, whose car windows were shattered by the shooting, continued to the Nir Galim intersection. MDA then evacuated him to Assuta Hospital in Ashdod. He is in moderate condition with glass shard injuries to his upper body."

The police stated that "Police officers from the Yavneh police station are currently handling a shooting scene near the Yavne Darom (South) interchange, where there is an injured person; the circumstances [behind the attack] are being examined."

The Assuta hospital in Ashdod has just reported that the 30 year old man died on the way to the hospital and that 2 more injured people are on their way to the hospital, one of whom is a hospital doctor, who stopped to help.

Another injured person is being transported to the Kaplan Hospital.
