In the cabinet meeting that took place last night (Thursday), the ministers discussed the policy of demolishing the homes of Arab Israeli terrorists. During the discussion, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir demanded to expedite the demolition of houses, but the Shin Bet opposed the move and said it was not beneficial.

At the beginning of the discussion, Ben Gvir attacked the IDF: "I don't understand what we're waiting for, there are Israeli Arabs and Bedouins who have carried out attacks – let's demolish their houses now!" The demolition of a terrorist's house is in the hands of the Shin Bet and the IDF. The Deputy Head of the Shin Bet responded to the Minister: "Our professional stance is that demolishing houses is not effective."

Transportation Minister Miri Regev responded: "You make recommendations, but we are the political echelon, we need to implement it." The Deputy Head of the Shin Bet replied to her: "This will affect the homes of the perpetrators of Jewish attacks."

Ben Gvir noted: "The High Court ruled that there is a difference." The judges ruled that among Jews, it is not a phenomenon. Even the Minister of Transportation, Bezalel Smotrich, joined Regev and Ben Gvir: "There is no support from the natural environment."

At this stage, Defense Minister Yoav Galant intervened: "Enough, I have instructed to investigate and let the Shin Bet and IDF examine it." Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concluded the discussion: "In the coming days, we will deliberate on the demolition of terrorists' homes and the expulsion of their families." Ben Gvir mentioned that "we should also discuss and promote the death penalty for terrorists." It has to be together.
