Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said today (Monday) that Iran has no intention of sending Iranian forces to assist Hezbollah, despite the blows it has suffered at the hands of the IDF.

In his statement, Kanaani said that "There is no need to send volunteer or support forces from Iran to Gaza and Lebanon, as Lebanon and Palestine have the necessary capability to defend themselves."

He added that "we have repeatedly stated that we do not have any proxy forces in the region, but we support resistance groups."

Deputy Hezbollah Leader Sheikh Naim Qassem gave a eulogy today for slain Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah from an undisclosed location, according to Naharnet.

Turning his attention to the war, Qassem accused the US of providing Israel backing in all its activities but that nevertheless "Israel is delusional if it thinks that it can achieve its goals through war" and that Israel would not be able to degrade Hezbollah's military activities.

He further said that Hezbollah would continue in Nasrallah's path and the organization's goals and that "We will not renounce our stances and the resistance will continue to assist Palestine," meaning the border war will continue.

Regarding a possible IDF ground incursion, he said "and if the enemy decides to enter by land, our fighters are prepared and we will emerge victorious."
