Traffic Stop, Palestinians

Why did the police arrest a chareidi man in Ramat Gan?

The suspect was carrying a stolen ID, an IDF combat soldier card, and multiple phones.

A routine traffic stop in Ramat Gan on Friday morning led to the arrest of a Palestinian man disguised as a Chareidi Jew from Bnei Brak, police officials reported.

Traffic officers initially stopped the suspect, who was riding an electric bike, for not wearing his helmet properly. When asked for identification, the man attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended and taken to the Bnei Brak police station for questioning.

During the investigation, police discovered that the 49-year-old suspect was an illegal resident from the Shomron region, not the Chareidi man from Bnei Brak he was pretending to be.

A search of the suspect revealed several concerning items: A stolen identification card portraying him as a Chareidi man from Bnei Brak, an IDF combat soldier identification card, four mobile phones, pepper spray and a large sum of cash.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine how the suspect obtained the false identification and combat soldier card, as well as his motives for being in Ramat Gan.
