City of Ramat Gan Spokesperson's Statement:
A few minutes ago, sirens were heard in Ramat Gan and the Greater Tel Aviv area. According to initial reports, there is damage to a building in Bnei Brak, near the Ramat Gan border. According to an IDF spokesperson, it is likely a hit from interception debris.
Security forces are on site and are handling the crash site.
We ask the public not to approach the scene of the incident and to allow the security forces to carry out their work.
Additionally, several reports have been received regarding power outages in various areas. The matter is under investigation with the electricity company.
Fire and Rescue Service of Israel reports on the incident:
Six firefighting teams are operating at the scene of the incident in Ramat Gan. It is a fire in an electrical transformer that was damaged by the fall of interceptor debris. Until the transformer is disconnected by the electric company, it is under the control of the firefighting forces on the ground and does not pose a danger. Due to the collapse, damage was caused to nearby buildings. Firefighting teams are conducting searches in the affected buildings to locate casualties and find those trapped in elevators due to the power outage.
According to MDA, there are 5 moderately to lightly injured individuals at the scene.
