Air raid sirens sounded across central Israel on Monday evening as a heavy rocket barrage from Lebanon triggered alerts in dozens of cities, from Tel Aviv to Netanya.
The attack unfolded rapidly: Initial sirens sounded in Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Ramat Gan, Petah Tikva, Bnei Brak, Holon, and surrounding areas. After that, multiple Iron Dome interceptions were seen over the Gush Dan region. A direct hit was then reported on the border of Bnei Brak and Ramat Gan's Ben Gurion Avenue, with secondary alerts being triggered in northern Israel as hostile aircraft crossed from Lebanon.
A fire erupted at the Bnei Brak /Ramat Gan impact site, where seven firefighting crews battle the blaze.
Five casualties have been reported:
- 54-year-old man in critical condition with shrapnel wounds
- One victim moderately injured
- Three others lightly wounded
All of the victims are being treated by Magen David Adom and rushed to Beilinson Hospital.
Additional damage includes an empty bus struck by debris in Bnei Brak. Emergency services are currently working at multiple sites.
"Citizens should remain near protected spaces," Home Front Command advised.
The IDF confirmed successful interceptions over both central and northern Israel, with Air Defense systems engaging multiple targets.
This is a developing situation.
