It’s worth noting that on Monday, Road 6 was closed to traffic northbound from the Hoshaya Interchange due to police handling of a suspected security incident. Thirteen individuals were arrested, and the road was reopened about half an hour later.
In addition, security forces from the Magav’s Almog Unit were documented taking control of a Palestinian who had stolen a private vehicle in the Harel Interchange tunnel on Road 1 in Jerusalem. The forces smashed the car window with an axe and apprehended the car thief.
One of the suspects, an illegal Palestinian resident, was transferred to Shin Bet for questioning to determine if he was linked to a planned attack. The other 12, also illegal residents, were handed over to the police. No weapons were found in the vehicle.
Additionally, about 11 days ago, a car bomb exploded at a gas station at the Gush Etzion Junction as part of a combined attack. A terrorist also entered the settlement of Karmei Tzur in the Etzion Brigade. Three Israelis were injured, ranging from light to moderate, and were evacuated for further treatment at hospitals.
An investigation into the car explosion at the Gush Etzion gas station indicates it was an attempt at a car bombing. After the explosion, a terrorist exited another vehicle and tried to attack the forces, but was neutralized. During the confrontation, the commander of the Etzion Brigade was lightly injured. Additionally, another combat officer was moderately injured, and a reserve officer serving as a security coordinator for a nearby settlement was lightly injured.
