Staff Sergeant Amit Friedman, 19, from Or Yehuda, fell during combat in the southern Gaza Strip, as was cleared for publication on Wednesday morning.
Friedman served in the 932nd Battalion of the Nahal Brigade. His family has been notified of the tragic loss.
Earlier this week, a large crowd gathered to honor the memory of Master Sergeant (Res.) Shlomo Yehonatan Hazut, who was killed by a roadside bomb in the Gaza Strip. Hazut leaves behind his pregnant wife and two-year-old daughter.
Hazut, a soldier in the 9207th Battalion of the 16th Brigade, was killed when a roadside bomb planted by terrorists detonated in the Zaytun neighborhood. The explosion occurred while his unit was conducting scans as part of operations to broaden the Netzarim Corridor. The bomb detonated as the soldiers walked behind a D9 bulldozer, which failed to uncover the explosive before it went off.
In the same incident, another reservist from the 9207th Battalion was severely injured. He was evacuated to a hospital for treatment, and his family has been notified.
