The IDF released footage today from a significant military engagement on the Lebanon border that resulted in the deaths of five reservists and left 16 others wounded. The incident occurred during a targeted operation against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.

According to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, the clash took place during an intelligence-led raid on a Hezbollah compound by the Northern Nachal Brigade (228), operating under Division 91's command. The operation was part of ongoing military activities along Israel's northern border.

The confrontation escalated when IDF forces encountered heavily fortified Hezbollah fighters within a building complex. Body camera footage shows the intense firefight that ensued, with Israeli forces conducting combat operations while simultaneously managing a complex casualty evacuation.

The IDF identified the fallen reservists as Major (Res.) Eliav Amram Abitbul, Captain (Res.) Rabbi Avraham Yosef Goldberg, Captain (Res.) Amit Hayat, Master Sergeant (Res.) Gilad Elmaliach, and Master Sergeant (Res.) Shaul Moyal.

The operation was part of the IDF's broader campaign against Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon, which has included the destruction of underground tunnels and weapon storage facilities.

Military sources report that the brigade has eliminated dozens of militants in both direct combat and aerial strikes over recent weeks.

Despite the casualties, the IDF reports that forces continued their assault on the compound and successfully destroyed several terrorist infrastructure sites in the area.

The IDF spokesperson stated that the military will continue to support the bereaved families.

The IDF remains committed to bringing peace to its Northern border
