A 35 year-old woman died yesterday (Sunday) at Ichilov Hospital, a week after giving birth to her seventh child. She was rushed to the emergency room when she was unconscious and under the resuscitation efforts of MDA teams, this after collapsing in her home.
According to the hospital, a deadly bacteria attacked her body and caused her death. This is a rare event that happens in Israel only two to three times a year.
Ichilov Hospital said: "On Saturday night, a woman in labor who collapsed at home, a week after giving birth to her seventh child, came to the emergency room, while she was unconscious and under the resuscitation efforts of the MDA. This after she was apparently infected with a predatory bacteria. After prolonged resuscitation efforts and emergency surgery, to our great regret, the patient died."
