Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the hostage negotiations in Doha today (Sunday) at the start of the government meeting, where he explained what Israel was seeking to gain and what it was aiming for.
Netanyahu stated that "we are conducting negotiations to free our hostages. This is a moral and national mission of the highest order. We are conducting very complex negotiations with the other side being a murderous, unscrupulous and recalcitrant terrorist organization."
As such, "there are things we can be flexible on, and there are things we cannot be flexible on - and we insist on them. We know very well how to distinguish between the two."
Netanyahu ended by saying that due to Hamas not even sending a representative to the negotiating table at Doha, "strong military pressure, and strong political pressure - this is the way to achieve the release of our hostages."
