Report: IDF Negotiator Informs Netanyahu of Growing Danger to Hostages

Major General (res.) Nitzan Alon, the chief IDF negotiator at the ceasefire talks in Doha, has presented Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a document detailing the dire conditions faced by the hostages still alive in Gaza, urging increased flexibility in negotiations.

According to Channel 12 News, Alon warned that the longer the hostages remain in Gaza, the greater the risk to their lives, and advised the Prime Minister to permit Israeli negotiators to be more flexible to expedite their release.

The document reportedly highlights the deteriorating conditions for the hostages, including worsening isolation, sanitation issues, and lack of medical supplies, particularly in the harsh conditions of underground captivity. It stresses that as time passes, the threat to the hostages’ lives intensifies.

According to Israel National News, the document also reportedly outlines which hostages have been killed, specifying whether they were murdered by Hamas or accidentally killed in Israeli airstrikes.

The Prime Minister's Office has denied the report, stating, "Nitzan Alon has not submitted any document to the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu provided the negotiating team with a mandate agreed upon by all security establishment heads and the negotiating team."

Hamas and other terrorists abducted about 250 people from southern Israel during the October 7 massacre. Over 10 months later, 115 hostages remain in Gaza, with many confirmed dead.

This week, Hamas claimed that a guard killed a male hostage in anger after learning that his children had been killed in an Israeli airstrike, but no evidence has been provided. Hamas also released a photograph of a deceased hostage, identified as Ofir Sarfati, whose body was recovered and returned to Israel in November.
