Fear of Retaliation: Dramatic Instructions to Netanyahu and Ministers

In light of concerns about retaliation from Hezbollah and Iran, the Shin Bet has instructed the Prime Minister and ministers that any tour in the north will require personal approval from the head of the Shin Bet. Additionally, Israeli embassies around the world have been directed to increase their alert levels.

Following the assassinations in Lebanon and Iran, the Shin Bet issued security guidelines to the Prime Minister and government ministers, stipulating that participation in any mass event must include immediate and adjacent protected areas. This information was reported by Yaron Abraham on Channel 12 News.

It was also instructed that any tour in the north must receive personal approval from the head of the Shin Bet. Israeli embassies worldwide have been instructed to heighten vigilance and increase awareness, due to concerns about potential Iranian retaliation against Israeli or Jewish governmental symbols abroad.

Following the assassination in Lebanon, Brigadier General Shai Kalper, commander of the Galilee Division (Division 91), met with local officials and heads of councils in the Upper Galilee. During the meeting, the division commander outlined the current situation and the readiness of the division's forces for ongoing developments.

"I say this modestly, but we are very well-prepared," said Kalper. "The events of the past day have been very significant. We are conducting situation assessments and simultaneously preparing for a range of scenarios—both defensive and offensive. We are here for the residents and will do whatever is necessary."
