Fatal Accident: 78-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Truck Collision

The fatal incident occurred today (Sunday) in the early afternoon on La Guardia Street in Tel Aviv, resulting in the death of a 78-year-old pedestrian after she was struck by the truck causing her critical injuries.

Paramedics and emergency responders who arrived at the scene of the accident in Tel Aviv provided initial medical treatment to the pedestrian in an attempt to save her life. She was then transferred to Sheba Medical Centre, where unfortunately her death was confirmed. The truck driver has been detained for questioning by authorities.

The pedestrian, walking along the street, was hit by a passing truck and fell unconscious to the ground. Paramedics and emergency medical personnel who arrived at the scene provided initial medical treatment and evacuated her to Sheba Medical Centre, suffering from severe lower body injuries.

Doctors at the hospital tried to save her life, but their efforts were in vain. Her death was confirmed shortly thereafter. Concurrently, police have launched an investigation into the incident, and the truck driver has been detained for questioning.

Senior paramedic Lifa Hirsch of Magen David Adom (MDA) reported, "The pedestrian was lying on the road near the truck, conscious but suffering severe lower body injuries. We provided medical treatment including stopping bleeding and administering medication, and she was transported in critical condition by MDA's intensive care unit to Sheba Medical Centre."

Emergency responders Aharon Ezra and Yaakov Rafaeli added, "When we arrived at the scene of the road accident, we found a 78-year-old woman pedestrian suffering severe lower body injuries after being hit by a truck. Alongside MDA paramedics, we provided initial medical treatment including stabilization and bandaging, and she was taken in serious condition for further medical treatment in the trauma room at Sheba Medical Center."

Police stated, "During the afternoon hours, a report was received of an accident involving a truck and a pedestrian near La Guardia interchange. The pedestrian's death was confirmed at the hospital by medical authorities.

"Officers from the Ayalon District Police and the Traffic Accident Investigation Unit of the Tel Aviv District Police arrived at the scene, began collecting evidence, and investigating the circumstances of the accident. The truck driver has been detained for questioning."
