At the beginning of the week, detectives from the Bnei Brak - Ramat Gan police station conducted a search of an apartment in the village of Beit Aryeh. As part of the search, police located and seized a Kalashnikov rifle and cartridge, 51 5.56 bullets, a substance suspected to be a cannabis-type drug weighing 16 grams, and an electronic scale.
The detectives arrested the suspect, a 29-year-old resident of the vilage, and he was taken to the police station for questioning. According to the investigation, the suspect volunteered in a civilian organization and traveled to the south three days after the October 7th massacre.
When he noticed the weapon, he says he took it in order to protect himself and later brought it home as a "souvenir". The suspect's detention was extended until tomorrow (Friday). At the end of the investigation, a prosecutor's statement was submitted and charges are to be filed in the case.
