Israel-Gaza War, Humanitarian Aid, Hostages

Ten Arrested Trying to Block Humanitarian Aid Into Gaza Due to No Hostage Releases

After a week of protests blockading humanitarian aid into Gaza without freed hostages, the Israel Police has begun to use much more force, including horse-mounted officers and special forces.

Protesters continue to try and stop the provision of humanitarian aid into Gaza so long as hostages are not released, as well.

The Police deployed in very large numbers to meet them today (Wednesday), preventing access to the crossing and allowing the trucks to continue to enter the Strip. According to the Tzav Tesha protest group, the police are using major force and even serious violence against the protesters, and over ten have been arrested.

Among those arrested are the bereaved brother and son Yehudah Dee, who lost his mother Leah/Lucy and sisters Rina and Maya ob”m, who were murdered in a terrorist attack on the Hamra junction last pesach.

The Tzav Tesha protest movement said that “what a shame for the Israel Police and its head that a bereaved brother and son was arrested and all this in order to allow the introduction of supplies to the Hamas terrorists who murdered his family. Shame.”

Meanwhile, Southern Command commander Yaron Finkelman signed an order expanding the closed military area on route 211 and the Nitzanah crossing. This allows the police to prevent the arrival of protesters at the southern crossing entrance where goods enter from Egypt to Israel en route to the Gaza Strip.
