Interior Minister Moshe Arbel announced today that he intends to start the process of removing the official status of two terrorists held in Israeli prisons.

The minister announced this morning that he intends to take action to revoke the status of Hamas terrorists Maged Juaba and Rashid Rashek for carrying out actions to promote and support terrorism against Israel as part of their membership in the terrorist organization Hamas and Shabab al-Aqsa.

Maged Juaba, as part of his activities in a terrorist organization, worked among other things to recruit operatives, collect funds and pay salaries, in addition to organizing and participating in many public actions expressing support for Hamas as well as transferring funds to the families of the organization's terrorists.

Rashid Rashek, was active when he was still a minor in a stabbing attack on an Israeli citizen in the Old City of Jerusalem, participating in violent activity on the Temple Mount, establishing a military unit together with other Hamas operatives whose purpose was to carry out attacks on Israelis and kidnapping soldiers, and promoting activity to carry out disturbances against the security forces.

The Minister of the Interior announced that he will immediately begin the official procedure to remove their civil status. The Minister gave an official notice today through the prison service to the Hamas terrorists that he intends to exercise his authority within 14 days according to Section 11A of the Law on Entry into Israel regarding the denial of residency due to breach of trust to the State of Israel.
