The massacre in Basmat Tab'un. Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai arrived at the scene but did not respond to journalists' questions. In his place, Police Spokesperson Eli Levi stated that it was a tragic and brutal event.
At the scene of the massacre in Basmat Tab'un, in the Jezreel Valley, there were 5 victims from the same family: 4 men and 1 woman. Additionally, a person around the age of 55 was injured severely.
"The Police Commissioner is at the scene with the Coastal District Commander. While receiving reports of the incident, the Police Commissioner immediately called the head of Lahav 433 and other senior officials for an initial assessment. The Police Commissioner instructed to allocate all available technological resources to investigate the event. Currently, all units of the Israel Police are examining the incident. Everything will be done to apprehend the perpetrators."
Regarding the connection between this event and the morning murder in Haifa, Levi stated, "The connection to the Haifa murder is being investigated, but in addition to that, all directions of the investigation are being examined and explored. We are shortly after the murder, and the Police Commissioner and the District Commander are conducting a situation assessment."
Regarding the details of the murder, the police spokesperson said, "Due to the limitations of the investigation, at least three individuals arrived, firing at the victims from a short range with automatic weapons. Beyond that, I cannot elaborate. We have also obtained photographs and testimonies from the scene. As the investigation progresses, we will provide more details."
