Security investigation - Forging protocols

New security case: The police are investigating events from the beginning of the war

The Lod District Court has permitted the publication that the Lahav 433 unit of the Israel Police is conducting a criminal investigation related to the events at the beginning of the war. It was also stated that "several open investigative activities have been conducted."

New security case: It has been cleared for publication that the Lahav 433 unit in the Israel Police is conducting a criminal investigation related to the events at the beginning of the war. According to the police statement, it was said that "several open investigative activities were conducted."

According to media reports, this is not about the document leaks case – but rather another security case that has not been permitted for publication until today. Apparently, the case being investigated is the one revealed last July by journalist Nadav Il in Ynet, who reported concerns in the IDF about attempts to forge protocols in the Prime Minister's Office during the war – including claims that there were attempts to alter transcripts and protocols of cabinet discussions and even phone calls for security updates with decision-makers, primarily Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

However, the Prime Minister's Office told Srugim that they are not familiar with the report that a senior official in the office is expected to be investigated in the affair.

As mentioned, the new investigation is being conducted alongside the investigation into the leak of security documents, with the main suspect in the case being Eli Feldstein, a spokesperson in the Prime Minister's Office. Earlier today, the Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion extended the detention of Feldstein and another suspect in the case until Sunday, after the Shin Bet requested to extend their detention by 8 days. Additionally, three of the suspects in the case met with their lawyers – after being denied this right in recent days.
