A coordinated effort between Far Rockaway Nassau Shomrim (RNSP) and Monitex Security led to the arrest of three suspects believed to be part of a major interstate burglary operation Thursday night in Woodsburgh, Five Towns.
Monitex home security detected suspicious activity and alerted Shomrim volunteers, who arrived to find three individuals approaching a residence with a crowbar.
Shomrim volunteers recognized that the suspects were part of a larger burglary pattern affecting multiple states, and immediately coordinated with Nassau County Police.
Using drone surveillance and establishing a secure perimeter, Shomrim assisted police K-9 units in capturing all three suspects on the property. While a fourth suspect driving the getaway vehicle managed to escape after a brief pursuit, Shomrim's camera system captured the vehicle's license plate, providing important evidence for ongoing investigations.
Law enforcement sources indicate the suspects are wanted in connection with dozens of high-profile burglaries across New York and New Jersey. The successful operation highlights the growing effectiveness of community security partnerships in combating organized crime in suburban neighborhoods.
