The Canadian government has reportedly foiled an alleged plot by Iran to assassinate Irwin Cotler, a long-standing human rights activist and staunch Zionist, according to the Canadian Globe and Mail.

Cotler, who served in a number of positions in both the Canadian government and at the international bodies of law such as the International Criminal Court, is known as a fierce critic of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including its downing of a Ukrainian civilian plane and its support for Hamas.

Cotler is not the only target of Iranian assassination attempts; the FBI said that Iran has been trying to assassinate former President and now President-elect Donald Trump for months, now, unrelated to the two actual assassination attempts conducted against him during the election campaign in Pennsyvania and in Florida.
