The Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, conducted a field tour and situation assessment today (Tuesday) in southern Lebanon with the Commander of the Northern Command, Major General Ori Gordin, the Commander of the Galilee Formation (91), Brigadier General Shay Klafler, and other commanders. Additionally, the Chief of Staff spoke with the commanders and reserve fighters operating in the sector.
In his remarks, the Chief of Staff said: "From Nasrallah, the Hezbollah Jihad Council, unit and sector commanders, sub-sectors, compounds, and many operatives, we took out a significant amount of command and combat personnel, we took out a significant amount of capabilities. You are taking out a lot of weapons, missiles, launchers from here, this is very, very important."
"Know that the IDF is simultaneously working very hard, we have carried out heavy attacks in Beirut, in Dahieh, targeting Hezbollah. We are attacking deep and we are attacking a lot in Syria and along the Syria-Lebanon border so that weapons do not enter Hezbollah."
"The purification of this area," said the Chief of Staff, "will give us the basic conditions from here to do the right things, so that the valley below will truly be safe."
