Mosab Hassan Yousef, the former Shin Bet operative and son of a senior Hamas leader, is set to make his first public appearance in Israel on January 29 at Hangar 11 in Tel Aviv Port.
Known as "The Green Prince," Yousef, 46, earned his reputation as a vital informant for Israel's Shin Bet security agency. His transformation began in the late 1990s while imprisoned in an Israeli jail, where he rejected the Hamas ideology he had once embraced as an active member of the terrorist group.
In 2005, Yousef converted to Christianity and, in 2009, published his memoir, Son of Hamas, which captivated global audiences with its remarkable narrative. Granted political asylum in the United States in 2010, he has since become a vocal critic of Hamas and its supporters, frequently requiring personal security due to threats against his life.
His story was further explored in the 2014 documentary The Green Prince, directed by Nadav Schirman. Following the October 7 Hamas-led massacre, Yousef has intensified his criticism of the group, using social media and international platforms to strongly advocate for Israel’s actions and security needs.
