After the IDF released a report covering the events of October 7th while leading an investigation into lack of military response to the massacre, the remaining kibbutz members continue to feel betrayed.

According to Walla news, Kibbutz Be'eri responded to the IDF's investigation findings regarding the massacre in their community with dissatisfaction, urging the establishment of a state commission of inquiry. They felt the investigation failed to provide satisfactory responses to key questions, particularly concerning the delayed entry of military forces into the kibbutz while residents sought assistance. The kibbutz underscored the importance of the IDF acknowledging responsibility for its failure to protect them during the attack.

Members of the kibbutz emphasized that their first hand experience of loss and destruction rendered the investigation's findings unnecessary for understanding the severity of the situation. They called for a comprehensive inquiry that would scrutinize the actions of all parties involved and furnish them with answers to aid in rehabilitation and strategic planning for the future.

Gadi Yarkoni, head of the Eshkol Regional Council, echoed these sentiments, criticizing the investigation's outcomes and highlighting the absence of accountability and leadership responsibility. He advocated for a state commission of inquiry to ensure effective implementation of the investigation's lessons.

In summary, both the kibbutz and the regional council expressed frustration with the investigation's limitations in addressing critical inquiries about the massacre. They stressed the imperative of accountability, acknowledgment of responsibility, and a thorough review of all aspects of the tragedy to prevent recurrence.
