Israel at war, the 52nd day. Two weeks after the raid on Shifa Hospital, the IDF spokesman is publishing today documentation from the entry of the fighters into the compound of the largest hospital in Gaza.
The Shaldag Unit was already launched on Saturday, October 7th, and fought in Be'eri, Re'im, and other Kibbutzim in the Gaza envelope. After that, they participated in the ground maneuver in the north of the Gaza Strip, and acted together with the various IDF units and forces, against the terrorist organization Hamas.
As part of the fighting in the northern Gaza Strip, the fighters raided Shifa Hospital. In the hospital, they located weapons and terrorist infrastructure that were used by the terrorist organization Hamas, such as weapons and cartridges, grenades, weapons equipment disguised in medical treatment suitcases, and anti-tank charges. In the long and complex raid on Shifa Hospital, the forces used advanced technologies in the underground medium and located a tunnel shaft which revealed the route of a terrorist tunnel under the hospital.
The force of the Shaldag Unit that broke into the hospital reached the minus one floor, where everything seemed normal until breaking through a wall, that goes down to the minus 2 floor, revealed an entire Hamas headquarters. The MRI room was tightly locked - there was a headquarters with a lot of material and a lot of ammunition. An ambulance full of suitcases was found there with investigations of accomplices, visible materials on the computers there, and documents related to the abductees.
A car full of personal and military equipment that was kidnapped from Kibbutz Be'eri was also found there. The hostages were brought there and then dispersed. The fighters found a bloodied helmet there, and they described that the whole place was filled with the smell of corpses. This is the first time that Israel has raided a hospital in order to find the headquarters of terrorist organizations underneath.
