The IDF presents evidence that it was the Arabs who fired the rocket at the Al-Mamadani Hospital in Gaza, an attack in which, according to Hamas, hundreds of Palestinians were injured.
"From a comprehensive investigation and the cross-referencing of all operational and intelligence systems, it is evident that the IDF did not target the hospital in Gaza," stated the IDF spokesperson. "The hospital was damaged as a result of a failed launch by the terrorist organization."
Geri added, "Terror organizations in the Gaza Strip indiscriminately fire towards Israel, endangering and also harming the residents of the Gaza Strip. Since the beginning of the conflict, about 450 rockets have been launched by terror organizations that landed within the territory of the Gaza Strip."
To prove his claim, he presented a map of the rocket launches recorded in the IDF systems, from which it is clearly seen that the hospital is in the path of the rockets, and one of them exploded there as a result of a failed launch.
Prime Minister Netanyahu stated last night: "The entire world should know: the barbaric terrorists in Gaza are the ones who attacked the hospital in Gaza, not the IDF. Those who cruelly killed our children also murder their own."
Yesterday, it was reported in Srugim about dozens of casualties in an explosion near the Al-Mamadani Hospital in Gaza City. Hamas claims it's an Israeli strike and is inflating the number of casualties to tens or even hundreds.
In Israel, there is a strong emphasis on not targeting hospitals and their surroundings, and if such an attack occurs, they conduct warning calls and employ "roof-knocking" warning shots. It appears that one of the rockets fired by Hamas failed and instead of reaching the Greater Tel Aviv area, it landed near the hospital, causing a fire and dozens of casualties.
Hamas is taking advantage of the significant damage to call on Judea and Samaria and Arab-Israeli Arabs to engage in retaliatory actions – something that hasn't happened much in the past ten days.
In Jordan, hundreds of rioters attempted to breach the Israeli embassy in Rabat Amon. There are also protests and mass gatherings in Judea and Samaria expressing anger towards Israel.
Even before tonight's attack, more than 3,000 casualties were reported in the Gaza Strip, in addition to the over 2,000 militants killed within Israeli territory. The number of wounded has reached over 13,000.
