Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu visited the "Pillar of Fire" soldiers today (Thursday) and said, "I salute you, each one of you. Israel stands behind you, relies on you, and together we will win."

During his visit, the Prime Minister heard about the determined and daring combat actions of the soldiers and commanders of the Sayeret and Commando units in the Gaza periphery, under the command of Brigadier General Dan Goldfus, who was among the first commanders to arrive at the scene and lead the fighting from the initial moments to the decisive conclusion.

In addition, Prime Minister Netanyahu received a briefing from the Commander of the Division and his staff on the operational plans, capabilities, and readiness of the Division across all fronts.

Netanyahu: "Fought like lions in the face of horrors"

The Prime Minister described the spirit of the soldiers during his tour of Division 98: "I'm here with the soldiers and commanders of Division 98. Lions, lions! - People and lions. They have experienced very tough situations, leaving everything behind at home, coming here, camping on the road for kilometers, gearing up, entering the field, fighting like lions against horrifying scenes that cannot be described, and they continued to fight, fall, get up, and continue. The spirit that I encountered here is tremendous."

According to him, "I sat here with the senior commanders, and now I'm here with the soldiers and commanders. 'Prime Minister, give us the freedom to act' - that's what they say. 'Give us the freedom to act. We will defeat them on the battlefield, and we will ensure the future of the State of Israel. You have the very best here, the very best.' True heroes."

In conclusion, Netanyahu said: "I salute you, each and every one of you. I salute you, and you should know, the entire people of Israel stand behind you. This is not a slogan. The people of Israel stand behind you, rely on you, and together we will prevail. Today, after visiting here, you know how true it is, how accurate it is - and you know that it will be. Thank you very much, guys. Thank you."
