Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today (Monday) at the coalition leaders' meeting that "there are two threats we need to resolve – the Iranian threat and the conscription law," as reported by Avraham Freund.

Let us remind you that many people believe that the dismissal of former Defense Minister Yoav Galant last Tuesday was part of Netanyahu's plan to advance the conscription law, which would be agreed upon by the new Defense Minister, Israel Katz.

Earlier today, the Minister of Tourism, Chaim Katz (Likud), addressed the Knesset plenum regarding the uproar over the conscription law and the status of yeshiva students, claiming that the army does not know how to accept the Haredi public and that they do not want Haredim in the army at all.

According to Minister Katz: "They are making a conscription law, the 'draft dodging law,' and the truth is, the army doesn't know how to integrate the ultra-Orthodox into the military today." "My son has been in reserve duty for over 300 days, and we can't accept it, and even if we wanted to, we don't want them there, forget politics, we don't want them there."

"I don't want them there, I voted against them at the time," Chaim Katz added.

The Minister of Tourism addressed comments from Knesset members about the 'small army' model and said: "'Small army' was foolishness, because you can't have a small army and live off sensors."
