The Emergency Government is On the Way

The national emergency government is making major headway. Tonight (Tuesday) Prime Minister Netanyahu invited State Party chairman Benny Gantz to a meeting.

Earlier today, the heads of local governments in the south published a letter calling on Prime Minister Netanyahu to form a national emergency government with opposition members.

At a meeting of coalition leaders held today, full agreement was registered among the participants for the formation of a national emergency government, and Prime Minister Netanyahu was authorized to work towards its establishment.

However, it has also been reported that National Security Minister Ben Gvir is erecting obstacles in the path of an emergency government, according to the reporting of Dafna Liel. Sources in the Prime Minister's Office state that Ben Gvir opposes the expansion of the security forum beyond the existing security cabinet. According to them, he only supports the formation of an emergency government, despite his view of Gantz and Eisenkot, whom he considers responsible for today's failures due to their prior service as heads of the defense establishment.
