Security Discussion Without Ben-Gvir

Netanyahu convened a security discussion; Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir was not invited

Once again Prime Minister Netanyahu convenes a secret security discussion, without the participation of the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir. The background - the fear of leaks of classified information

Against the backdrop of security tensions - with an emphasis on the wave of terrorism in Judea and Samaria and the renewal of riots on the border of the Gaza Strip - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a special situation assessment today (Sunday), and again the Minister of National Security was not invited to the discussion.

Also, the special discussion is taking place against the background of the contacts to promote a historic agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia, when the possibility of a Saudi nuke is also on the agenda.

Among the participants in the security discussion are Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, Shin Bet Chief Ronen Bar, and General Staff Champions, but as mentioned Otzma Yehudit Chairman Itamar Ben-Gvir was not invited to it, despite his relevant role.

It should be noted that Netanyahu rarely convenes the full forum of the political-security cabinet, but in most cases is content with more limited discussions, in order not to summon ministers like Ben-Gvir and Smotrich to the same situation assessments.

In the past, Netanyahu's entourage accused Minister Ben-Gvir of leaking from the confidential discussions and even threatened to prevent the entry of advisers and ban the removal of papers from the room, in order to prevent leaks.
