11 years after the founding of the Yesh Atid party, party chairman Yair Lapid announced this morning that elections will be held for the leadership of the party in the coming year.

In an interview with Radio 103FM, Lapid said: "Probably this year there will be elections for the position of party chairman. I think that in my position there should be primaries, not for Knesset members, and if you want to know why I suggest you go through the Likud Knesset members. There will be a primary for the position of chairman of Yesh Atid."

Regarding his situation in the polls, Lapid said: "I don't feel measured, my considerations, what is good for the State of Israel, are not necessarily political. This government is oppressing us from within, I think that in 2024 there will be elections because the government is dismantling itself from within. When there are elections, People always end up appreciating those who tell an unpleasant truth. Eventually, people at the elections, always say, 'I will vote for whoever speaks his mind'."

Lapid mentioned: "With much less than what we have today, I entered the elections and came out prime minister. There is an event here that was like no other, there is a government here that is doing the greatest destruction of value in the history of the country. My national side is also upset. We need to replace it. I don't think That I'm wrong, there's always a political price when you tell the truth in a clear voice when people know it's unpleasant."
