The Palestinian riots at the border of the Gaza Strip continue for the seventh day. This evening, terrorists opened fire on IDF soldiers. One of the terrorists was shot and killed.
During the last few hours, several small arms fire was heard at IDF positions. On one of the occasions, the IDF fired at one of the terrorists and he was seriously injured and later died in the hospital.
Last week, the Palestinians returned to rioting in the border area, at the same time as the IDF's activity in Jenin refugee camp. In response to the riots, the IDF attacked from the air at the beginning of the week and closed the passage of Palestinian workers from Gaza to Israel. The response had no effect, and the Palestinians continued rioting, escalating the incident, and using explosive charges against the perimeter fence.
On one occasion, the bomb exploded on a group of terrorists and resulted in the death of 6 of them, some of them sons of senior Hamas officials.
